Now this is my kind of club visitation—just across town. We arrived home and made it to bed about midnight last night after a fun time in New Rockford. The alarm didn’t go off when it was supposed to this morning, so we had just barely enough time to freshen up and don our visitation “uniforms”.
This group of friendly, rowdy Lions convenes at 6:55 a.m. at the Ramada. About a dozen of them, including Lion President Del Hager, were already there when we arrived at 6:45 and some were half way through breakfast. Can you say morning people?
Their traditional song and aerobics session “The More We Get Together.…” is almost too much for my old knees (not to mention coordination) early in the morning, but they have no problem with it. I had warned Brenda so she was prepared.
I always have fun at South Forks. They are “busy” from welcoming handshake to final goodbye. They remind me a lot of my club. Great tailtwisting and singing, although they need to up-tempo the “Smile” song just a little. Several of their members had been involved the previous week in rebuilding the children’s playground in Sherlock Park that had burned and in prepping electrical equipment in Lincoln Park for our combined Christmas in the Park fundraiser.
South Forks is home of PDGs G. Paul Larson and Wayne Westlund.
